Final easy canyon

Cap de Pount is a long walk up from the carpark up a valley and through a long cow meadow. We found the exit of the gorge and got changed, then walked up the slope and around it into another meadow after only a few hundred metres. Is that it? Becka said.

Yes, that is the lot.

You could see into part of it from above.

We enjoyed the jump into the first pool.

Further on Becka got trapped in a whirpool, having opted to lower herself down on a rope, rather than jump beyond the incoming current that split itself against the far wall of a cauldron.

Later I found this guidebook rendition of the canyon in the form of a flow chart.

There is a huge variation in the way people think try to present the information. But since the rope is pulled down and reused, you only need to know the length of the longest pitch.

I knackered the rope on one of the short overhanding pitch. Oops

We got out and found our dry clothes where we hid them.

Unfortunately I had not taken account of the fact that our bags would be full of dripping wet gear for the walk home.
