Adaptive Clearing:
The missing strategy for roughing

Use the other 70% of your tool’s cutting capability

The Adaptive Clearing module is the only general purpose algorithm that can generate side-milling toolpaths for any CAD model and set of tooling parameters. Without it, the advantages of side-milling are limited to production parts where the geometry is simple and the toolpaths can be generated or verified by hand.

The algorithm been written independently by Julian Todd and Martin Dunschen, who have 25 years of software development for High Speed Machining between them, with special help from Cimco Integration. It is available for license to all CAM vendors who market software for 3-axis machines. It has already been developed and is considerably cheaper to license on reasonable terms than the cost of reproducing this software in-house. We welcome inquiries from potential partners or from users who would like to see it integrated into their working system.

Here the German text again: Die wegweisende Adaptive Clearing-Funktion vermeidet Vollschnitte und trägt das Material kontinuierlich vom verbleibenden Rohteil ab.
This translates to:
The pioneering Adaptive Clearing function avoids full-width cuts and removes material continuously from the remaining stock. This guarantees constant load distribution while maintaining very high feedrates, so that all advantages of HSM are realised. This function prevents tool breakage and reduces the number of required finishing operations.

We could not have put it any better.
